Media Relations

Client: Blake Lively

To reinforce the strategy, I also created the concept and script for “Unfiltered & Undone”, a podcast series analyzing celebrity PR crises. The first episode, “Blake Lively: When the Bloom Fades,” explores her situation through the lens of professional crisis communication, featuring expert insights on managing media scrutiny and rebuilding reputation. The podcast served as a platform for public reflection while demonstrating how storytelling can support image recovery when handled with care.

In this media relations project, I developed a comprehensive communication plan for actress Blake Lively in response to the backlash she faced during the promotional campaign for It Ends With Us, a film addressing domestic violence. The controversy stemmed from her use of the press tour to promote personal brands and a viral moment where she appeared to downplay the film’s serious themes. This plan aimed to shift the narrative through a mix of empathy, advocacy, and strategic visibility.

The strategy focused on three key goals: rebuilding public trust, realigning her image to emphasize values like accountability and empowerment, and regaining positive media attention. Key actions included partnerships with domestic violence advocacy organizations, transparent public statements, and a series of subtle, meaningful engagements.
